International mobility of researchers in industry

28 September 2017

The Royal Society has commissioned RAND Europe to investigate the international mobility of researchers in industry, with a particular focus on the UK. The aim of the work is to better understand the patterns of, drivers of, and barriers to mobility, as well as the benefits and consequences for research-intensive sectors.

This report is supplementary to a broader project on the international mobility of researchers, which predominantly focused on researchers in academia. In this report, RAND Europe have outlined the findings of a workshop and a series of interviews with industry representatives, addressing some of the gaps in evidence relating to the mobility of researchers in research-intensive sectors.
