The Royal Society Inquiry into Infectious Diseases in Livestock (IDL) with particular reference to foot and mouth disease (FMD) chaired by Professor Sir Brian Follett FRS, published its report on 16 July 2002. The Inquiry focused on scientific issues relating to the transmission, prevention and control of infectious diseases in livestock.
