Scientific and technological developments relevant to the Biological & Toxin Weapons Convention

This workshop, co-hosted by the Royal Society, International Council for Science and the InterAcademy Panel on International Issues (IAP) was held on 4 - 6 September 2006

The workshop aimed to inform the delegates at the Sixth Review Conference of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) being held in Geneva in November 2006, by bringing together 84 leading international scientific and policy experts from 23 countries to discuss scientific and technological developments most relevant to the operation of the BTWC.

This joint statement highlights key points relating to the BTWC that emerged during the workshop.
