OSI: Review of science in the Home Office

01 January 2007

This consultation is one in a series of reviews that OSI is undertaking into the quality, management, and use of science by government departments. The Society's response notes the publication of the Home Office's Science and Innovation strategy and the appointment of the Department's Chief Scientific Advisor. The response also outlines a number of areas where the review should look in more detail at the use of science. For example, our response highlights areas in the commissioning of scientific research and openness and transparency of research decisions where procedures used by the Home Office are unclear.
