The Royal Society has commented on Ofsted's proposals for the new education inspection framework.
The response highlights the importance of encouraging all schools to study a broad, balanced and connected curriculum, acknowledging the challenges schools face in achieving this. It also considers issues surrounding teacher workload, school leadership, and Ofsted's current guidance on how to inspect maths, science and computing lessons in schools.
The Society welcomes the new framework and Ofsted's aspiration to be a force for improvement in schools.
